Introduction to High gloss black kitchens
More so than with any other colour, it is imperative to use high quality materials and high quality finishes within a black gloss kitchen. The depth of reflection means that any existing surface imperfections are amplified, and this can result in the dreaded 'orange peel' effect. To prevent this from occurring, LWK Kitchens use only high quality materials in our black gloss kitchens; Acrylic, Lacquer and Glass.
Different door types for high gloss kitchens
There are several different types of high gloss materials used in the manufacture of black kitchens but not all of which are offered by LWK Kitchens. This is because some materials simply don't achieve the reflective quality we know our clients are looking for, and it is for this reason that laminate or foil high gloss black finishes are not available. However, we do offer high gloss black kitchens in Acrylic, Lacquer and Glass finishes. All of these finishes are of an extremely good quality, the glass being particularly spectacular. The lacquered doors are produced in a sealed vestibule to ensure an exceptionally clean environment, wherein robots apply five coats of the lacquer to the door to produce exceptionally high quality lacquered doors.

Handle-less high gloss black kitchens
All of our high gloss black kitchens are available in our handle-less kitchen designs, with either the stainless steel recessed channel fitted to the carcass, or manufactured with 'touch to open' mechanisms. The touch to open mechanisms can be either electronically assisted or spring assisted. We also supply Hacker Kitchens unique 'climber' units, available for viewing on the following video clip:
Curved high gloss black Kitchens
LWK Kitchens lacquered finish is available in both convex and concave curved doors, and in either handled or handle-less design options. This finish can be used to stunning effect, as displayed in our Canary Wharf Showroom.
Designing Black gloss kitchens
We are still amazed by the number of people who would really like a black gloss kitchen but are deterred by the thought that it may be too dark, or make a room appear smaller. This need not be a major concern though as highly reflective materials give a perception of increased room size and the reflected light produces the same effect. It is also important to consider that furniture is just one element of your kitchen; you must also consider the floor tiles, worktop, splash back, and wall colour. It is the combination of these items that will determine whether or not you risk a design that is too dark. Our designers use software that can actually adjust luminescence to match the lighting in your room, and of course when producing your design we will match the floor and wall coverings in the software to those you actually intend to use.
