Transforming your dream kitchen into a reality should prove both exciting and life changing. And this is one of the reasons that kitchen design appointments are met with such great anticipation …But before embarking on the design process, you should first consider the following as a guideline for how to get the most out of your kitchen design appointment.
1) Booking your appointment…
We can also make home visits for clients who would prefer this, or for those who are unable to visit our showrooms. Our designers will travel to your residence, if it is within the vicinity of the M25, and where the kitchen space exists and is measurable at the time of the visit.
2) Ahead of your appointment…
These are ideal for clients who are unaware of the many different products available on the market, or who are simply looking for inspiration! Most clients find this helpful to view either online or a hardcopy thereof, prior to their actual appointment.

Pinterest is great platform on which to gather decorating and remodelling ideas, letting you easily save any you like and bring them with you to your design appointment. Houzz is another amazing platform for this, providing easy reach of professionals, inspiration and tips regarding remodelling.
It is really important to gather dimensions of your space or get a floorplan thereof, as the designers will base their designs on the measurements provided. Floorplans will also impact on the possible kitchen layout options available to you.
Establish a budget
Whilst we know it’s not always possible it is helpful if you can establish a budget prior to your appointment with a designer. This will ensure that the design work presented to you is realistic and falls in line with your expectations.
3) During your appointment…
Share your Likes and Dislikes
If you have a specific kitchen style that you are interested in, let your designer know! Bring any pictures along that you find appealing, so that your style preferences can be incorporated into your design. Similarly if there’s anything you know you really don’t like then share this too!
Bring a partner
If there’s more than one of you that use the kitchen, then both of you should have a say in its design. It is also beneficial to have someone there with you to recall the discussion and to share different views regarding the kitchen design.
Be honest… …
If you have certain expectations, make sure they are heard so the designer can (wherever possible) meet them.
Disclose a realistic budget
If you do not disclose a realistic budget, you risk extreme disappointment if presented with a design you love, but which you simply cannot afford. Instead, outlining your budget will permit a design with the look you want. But inclusive of materials and finishes within your price range.
Your designer will ask lots of questions to learn about you and establish your kitchen wants and requirements. At the same time, you should feel free to ask any questions you want of them. You will never be expected to familiarise yourself with standard kitchen jargon, and our designers would be delighted to assist you with any question you may have.
Be open to new ideas and suggestions
It is likely you’ll be presented with options you hadn’t previously considered. Very often these will be more practical and functional, or even just different to prior suggestions. Take time to consider every option presented and don’t be afraid to share your opinions! …Your honest feedback is really important for being able to tailor a design according to your individual preferences.
4) After your appointment…
We’ll send your design!
Your new design will be sent to you as soon as it is completed. If you have any changes or alterations, these will be made upon your request.
